Club Dress Code

Sunningdale’s dress code is intended to ensure a pleasant atmosphere in which to enjoy the Club’s facilities and services.  An integral part of Sunningdale’s tradition is the expectation that members, their families, and guests always be neatly attired and presentable.

Sunningdale’s dress code establishes minimum standards that apply to Club facilities.  At all times, members and their guests must be appropriately attired and in conformance with the guidelines set forth below. Courtesy and a cooperative attitude in abiding by the rules are expected by all members and guests. Prior to attending any activity at the Club, members are required to inform their guests of the dress code requirements and must ensure that their guests comply prior to their arrival.

If attire is not in compliance with the dress code, management will ask you to change.

In addition to the specific guidelines set forth below, the following general rules apply
  • The following are not permitted on the Terraces, in the Clubhouse, or at the tennis or golf facilities at any time:
    • Exercise/workout clothing (including spandex shorts/pants)
    • Ripped denim
    • Cut-off shorts
    • Men’s tank-tops
    • Athletic/logo’d t-shirts
    • Swim/beachwear, exposed swimsuits or cover-ups
    • Beach or rubber flip flops
  • Hats are not permitted during dinner, or when dining indoors.  Baseball caps are permitted while dining at the Club’s outdoor dining facilities, during lunch only, and must be worn in the forward position.
  • Shoes are always required in all locations except the Pool areas.
  • Exposed swimsuits are permitted only at the Pool. Members, children, and guests going between the Clubhouse locker rooms and the Pool must wear shirts or cover-ups, and shoes.

If you have any questions concerning the dress code, please contact the Club office. If you believe someone is inappropriately attired, please see the General or Assistant Manager. If they are not available, please do not address a member or guest directly, seek out a Club Officer to address the situation.
